Sharee-
I suggest you obtain a package insert of Levaquin and provide it to your physician. It is associated with Torsades Des pointes, QtC Heart interval problems as are other Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics. It also lists various heart related adverse events. You can go to www.geocities.com/quinolones/ a site where patients share information about reactions and review the cases there related to heart issues. You can also go to the www.rxlist.com site to review adverse effects by doing a drug search. Also a FYI for your physician to be aware of.... in Dec 2001 FDA added a new label warning change which does not yet appear on the drug that taking the drug with steroids can predispose to a higher risk of tendon rupture- as drugs in this class are known to cause tendonitis and tendon rupture as well. Many people on the discussion site above reported tachycardia, heart palpitaions elevated blood pressure.
