This will be my first visit to the board. I must say that it is a very moving experience to see and actually feel all the energy that you are all beaming at one another.
I underwent the Modified Maze Procedure after the first patient (Mr. Karl Best?) who received the Original Maze Procedure. After some hickups following the MMP that were corrected by a following EP study/procedure, I was able to resume a normal life and to prove it I was re-certificated by the FAA to a class I medical. Since the re-certification in July 1992, I have not flown commercially, but have gratefully lived a full and very energetic life.
My warmest thanks go to Dr J L Cox. He insisted in his efforts and was able to achieve a permanent cure to my atrial fibrillation. What is more important is that so many people are now enjoying the fruits of his work.
I look forward to regularly visiting the board and to exchange notes with you. To you Carl Plaskett I still owe a response and this will be coming over the week end. As you see I followed your advice and posted a brief note. We will keep in touch.
