Mary: It's great to hear that you are doing better than you expected. I think we all have anticipated slow recoveries from what seems like (and is) really major surgery, but most of us have been amazed at how quickly we have regained strength and endurance we forgot we ever had. As you have seen by many, many posts, it takes some months or even up to a couple of years to get to maximum heart efficiency/flexibility. Even though I was doing much more just 2 weeks post maze than I had been able to do for a few years, the additional 17 months post maze has me feeling that I can take on anything, with not even a thought about afib. This will come to you as well, and Tai Chi will probably get you there quicker than those of us who do not practice it.
Keep us updated.
