Ann,

I have had well over 50 cardioversions over the past 8 or 9 years. The first two were about 5 years apart and I have had them as close together as 2 hours. Other than the muscle soreness and a little burn from the pads, if you require multiple shocks to get back into NSR, I don't believe that there are any permanent side effects to the procedure itself.
