Just wanted to update the board on my progress. I am now 10 months post Maze and just returned from flying to Florida. Before my surgery I invariably would go into A fib whenever I would fly. Flying stresses me out, and stress was the one thing I could count on to cause me to go into A fib. As I have mentioned before, I did have episodes of A fib following my surgery, but have not had any problems since April 15th (almost two months). I thought at one point I would look into a "touch up" ablation at Cleveland Clinic, but have noticed that I have not been aware of my heart beat at all these past couple of months. What a relief. I am still on flecainide, but have started weaning off of it. So far, so good! Wish me luck with getting off this drug and eventually off Coumadin. I am encouraged by how I feel at this point. I have learned so much from others on this board and appreciate all of your comments and support.
Looking foward to flying to Hawaii in September - we canceled a trip to Cancun last year due to my many many trips to the ER. I now feel confident that I can fly again worry free!
