Thank you for reminding me. My six month Maze anniversary came and went yesterday. Dr. Dearani did my surgery as well on 12/03/01 at the Mayo Clinic. I agree with you - he is a brilliant surgeon! Whenever I mentioned his name during my pre-surgery tests the attending technicians or doctors would exclaim how fortunate I was. I understand that he routinely performs the difficult heart surgeries including heart & lung transplants and lots of pediatric surgeries. It appears that the Maze procedure is getting to be almost routine. Those of us cured by the Maze have a lot to be thankful for. Dr. Cox and the pioneers in this field need to continually congratulated.
