I haven't posted lately John as I've been backpacking in the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, running races and living life. I was with Carl at Cleveland when he had his maze and I think both of us look back fondly on that experience. I just had a major argument with a cardiologist who told me he would never recommend the maze. Unfortunately for him, I had the facts and he had his antiquated wisdom. Like most doctors, he never had AFib and doesn't know what it is like to live with it. And, he never thinks about the downside of AFib, just how to manage a person's life to make it as easy as possible. I, like many on this board, choose to live life, not slowly suffer from it. The stats on the maze are very, very good. It sounds worse than it is. All of us had a major affliction with AFib. That is what we were dealing with. So, yes there is some risk but the risk of not moving forward probably exceeds that of staying where you are and it does that by a wide margin. By the way, I like Asheville. Good running in the hills back there and I'm from California.
