Good luck, Alan on your continued recovery and the improvements you will see in your running. I am 58 and a former competitive runner. I have slowed since my faster days but this is due as much to living with AFib for 14 years before I discovered the maze. I do still crank out 50 a week and use my running base to backpack, hike and climb in ways that were never possible with AFib. Like you and many others, the quality of life issue was paramount in my decision for the maze. Unfortunately, many cardiologists have never had AFib and choose to just manage the disease rather than cure it. You are another good example of moving forward with your life.
