John, I don't know of much I could add to Carl's post. He covered most everything that I was thinking.
Carl and I both came out of the hospital in NSR and have never looked back.
On my second visit back to my cardiologist after the surgery, he told me that I need not come back any more. That was music to my ears.
I wish we could tell you everyone has this good of a experience, but there are some that have problems. The bottom line is that probably at 6 months, 95% of the maze people are maintaining NSR and most are off medication.
You will certainly be in our prayers for a good procedure.
