Thank you all so much for your help and advice.I am so pleased for all of you who have found freedom from AF.I rather suspect that if I lived in America I would have had the Maze by now !It is just different here because so few of the operations have been done and everyone is very cautious.I have read all your messages (many times) and I have consolidated my worries about my future, pacemakers etc. and written to my cardiologist.I am especially pleased to have been contacted by two people here in the UK who have had similar experiences.Thanks again.
