Val, you might want to spend some time reading from the other posters about their outcome from the maze. Some of the older ones you could find under the Maze Stories at the top of the page, and you can scan the board for more information.
All stories are not the same, but I think you will find that at 6 months post op, you will find most everyone off the meds.
Some surgeons adjust or remove the meds. differently. I was took off all my medications as soon as the surgery was over with. I have been AF and AF medications free since April 10th 1998, and it is a wonderful feeling. Some surgeons require you to go home on some meds, and gradually take them off. I don't know which way is the best, but it is probably done on a individual basis.
