If you let them put a pacemaker in, your heart will always need one, even if you get a maze later. One great benefit of the maze is that you can throw away your blood thinners, with a pacemaker, your heart will beat regularly, but there will be no atrial action. That means your heart still won't work efficiently, and you'll need blood thinners for the rest of your life. The maze will give you a new lease on life. A pacemaker won't let you get back your preAF exersize levels. Choose vibrant life.
