I have never had a heart attack. I went to the CC for the Maze procedure to get rid of AF. During the angiogram Dr. Ellis discovered I had 4 narrowed arteries. One was 90%. As a result Dr McCarthy & his team did a quadruple by-pass, the Maze procedure and a PFO closure 2/27/02.
Since I flipped back into AF on the way home from Cleveland, my meds got changed a couple times. I have been AF free for 55 days. My local EP Doc is the one who wants to put me on Toprol XL.

I stopped the betapace 2 days ago and I feel wonderful. My HR at rehab went from 82 to 130 today, opposed to 59 to 105 on Monday 5/13.

Hope this clarifies my situation.
