About 5 days post surgery a lung echo showed I had fluid or a plueral effusion in my right lung. I could feel the pressure as my breathing was short and shallow. It was removed with a needle and catheter that was inserted into my lower back, and drawn out. The proceudure seemed simple, quick, painless. I don't know much about fluid on the lungs, and maybe where the fluid is is a big factor is what needs to be done to correct it. In my case it was simple, and I felt so much better immediately after the 800cc of fluid was removed.
