I will be hoping for a great outcome for your son. I have learned that a lot of progress has been made in recent years on the PVA procedure. The University of Pennsylvania recently documented their success and stated they are happy with the low complication rate and the high success rate. The University of Michigan has reported in their Spring issue of PACE that they are successfully doing the PVA procedure. Interestingly, the procedure is much more successful with paroxysmal a-fib than with persistant a-fib, at this time, according the artical in PACE at Univ. of Mich. I will possibly be having this procedure at St. Luke's Heart Center in Houston sometime in the next year.
