I had scheduled the operation for about 8 weeks ago, but the echo-cardiogram came in with a 20% ejection fraction. It's up to about 48% now.
Like all other meds I've tried the Amiodarone isn't doing the job, so it's slice and dice time.
When my heart is regular, I find myself having to come back to this board to see the success and progress - because I become worried. Then it seems like my heart goes irregular and it's "please - do it now".
I'll be talking to Dr. Millar in a while about some specifics. I thought his procedure was an incision, but they had a report about him and the MAZE procedure on the news and they were talking about "Cryoablation" - or freezing the lines instead of cutting them. Seems I read something about that not being as successful??? Anyone have any details on the differences????
He's done over 150 procedures and I have faith in him, but do not want to be one of the ones to try a new procedure that may not work as well.
