Tim:
I remember the first time I was awakened in the middle of the night with my heart racing and pounding approximately six weeks after my Maze. I couldn't believe it was happening after all I had gone through with the surgery. That trip to the Emergency Room was the most depressing thing I have ever been through. However, I converted with Lopressor and since that time have gone into A fib/flutter approximately three other times. I also continued to have PVCs for a while. However, it got better for me as I approached the six month mark. I was on amiodarone when I was discharged from my surgery, but took myself off of it at six months! Now at eight months postop. I am doing great. No more A fib/flutter, SVT, or PVCs!! Hang in there. What you are experiencing sounds normal. Hope this helps to give you some reassurance along with others who have responded to your post.
