Hello to all you wonderful people on this board who have helped me to decide to do the Maze. I have followed the messages here since the inception of this site, but have never posted anything myself. Have had paroxysmal Afib for over 20 years, and as my cardiologist told me from the get go, it would only get worse with age. Tried many meds, and some have worked pretty good, but in the end as the frequency and length of the fibrillation increased, I finally said, “No more.” Talked to my cardiologist Friday, and despite his trying to discourage me, I called Dr. Millar’s office in Salt Lake City this morning, Monday, and scheduled the Maze for Thursday, April 2nd. I’m 73, in good health, but my active lifestyle has really shut down in the last couple of years. Life is short, and I want to enjoy what’s left of it with my wife, kids, and grand kids. Say a prayer for me (I’m scared), and if anyone has any good advice or counsel, please feel free to post it or e-mail me.
Thanks again to all of you on this incredible site. Don Haynsworth in San Diego, California
