I agree, that my primary discomfort post-maze, was from coughing and it's effect on my incision and my "mind".

Keep us informed of your recovery progress. It will be helpful to others, particularily the ladies out there who think only "tough, macho" guys are willing to go through this for a new lease on life.

A second thought re: coughing. It is possible that both of our coughs were aggravated by using amiodarone for so long, since it had definitely started to affect my lungs. I also REALLY exercised my lungs with the spirometer post-maze (a few hours/day), perhaps so much that they were easily irritated by the post-nasal drip.
