Paul, it has been about 14 months since my maze and the healing process took about seven weeks but went well for me. I was able to run, backpack, play tennis and do, pretty much, whatever I wanted. However, I did and still do have PAC's. My cardiologist says that as we age (I'm 58 now) PAC's become increasingly common. Maybe, after surgery for a year or two, this also happens. My research and the advice of my cardiologist is that PAC's are fairly benign. If I start to run, they go away. I don't worry about them and if this is all I have after my many years with AFib, I will be happy. It does seem like many of us have them so expect it, I guess. Just remember that physically you can still do whatever you want and as your heart rate rises, the chances are the PAC's will go away. Congratulations on your success and enjoy every minute of it.
