Paul,
I had my full Maze done 3 months ago at St. Lukes in Houston. I have not had any A-fib. but have had some "skipped beats" PVC"s on Holter. Had these before surgery.

The E.P. put me on a small amount of rythmol and it really helped the PVC"s. I have only had about 3 doses in the last 5 weeks. I also have some increase in heart rate. While resting it will be about 68--74. On getting up it may go to 95-110. It will go back down when setting down. The beats are regular. However, the skipped beats may start as the heart rate comes down and when lying on my back or left side. He also tolded me to try a low dose of beta blocker and it has helped. I saw the E.P. in Houston last week. He did a EKG and it looked ok. Said the atria showed electrical activity but he states wants me to stay on coumidin for another 3 months as the atria may not work well mechancially for 3-6 months. He wants to do a ECHO in 3 months also.

I don't know if I have helped at all. but after reading this board for awhile it seems most mazers have some type of strange things going on. It seems to reslove itself in time.

Good luck,

TC
