Ijust wanted everyone to know that I have passed my six month's anniversary date with "flying colors!" I am now OFF AMIODARONE! My EP was leary of taking me off Coumadin, however, since my EKG revealed that my atrium still hasn't "kicked in" quite enough to warrant that. He indicated that exercising would help to "wake it up." He was hopeful that I would be on aspirin alone within the next six months. I am now working out on the treadmill every day - well, walking on the treadmill, I should say. I feel wonderful, and am so grateful for finally having my A fib cured. My husband and I went dancing last Friday night, and for the first time in five years, I didn't feel like I was going to pass out. I hope this gives others hope who are researching their options, as I can emphatically state that having the Maze was the best decison I have ever made. I am 58 and am looking forward to a normal, A fib free life ahead of me. Without the Maze, I know that would not be possible. I can't imagine still being on all those drugs and worrying about side effects!
