Wow! Three years of 400mg/day of Cordarone would have finished me off for sure. I only made it to 18 months before stopping for the maze. That came after 4+ years of Tambocor (400mg/day) and an ablation.
I hope you are regularily checking your pulmonary function.
Perhaps if you can make contact with one of the European surgeons, they can provide you with the name of an Electrophysiologist or Cardiologist close to you who IS familiar with the maze, perhaps because he/she has referred maze patients.
If only doctors who say "Get used to living with it." could have the opportunity to try it themselves because of their own bad afib. Their attitudes (and ability to treat patients) would soon change.
