Saw my Cardio today. He confirmed I was still in AFIB and said we'd try an electro shock.

I reminded him that the last time we did this (2 years ago) it was not effective as I went back to AF within a week.

He looked at my records and then said "ok we try the tambacor again, but you may just have to get used to being in AF if this doesn't work"!!!!!!!

As I feel dreadful, this is not a pleasant prospect. So we discussed the MAZE. He admitted he didn't know much about it - no people in Luxembourg have ever had this.

However, he said he'd support me if I decided to take it further.

So, I see him in 3 months time - but I want to make contact with a MAZE surgeon here in Europe before the 3 months are up.

I have tried to make contact by email with one surgeon in the Netherlands -but sofar with no luck.

Any good contacts - personal referrals would be appreciated.
