Hans, I fully agree with Ed, and Carl's thoughts on the coumadin.
You should check on your surgical procedure and see if they removed the atrial appendages when they did your Maze. As far as I know this is standard procedure, and this decreases the chances of a clot forming in the atria. You are the only one who maintains NSR that I have heard of that is kept on coumadin unless there is some other reason, such as a mechanical valve which you don't have.
