Post surgery when I went into permanent NSR, I never had to go on coumidin. It has been one year now and I take no drugs. As I remember it from my past reading in "Seminars in CardioThoracic Surgery" on the maze, coumidin is not common at all. I am sure others will post their experience but I do not believe your cardiologist to be correct here. Make a copy of Dr. McCarthy's comments and take it to your cardiologist. Also, you could email CC for advice on this and I would think that they would respond. Good luck.
