Dear Jim:
I just read that you are 24 hours in NSR and 24 hours in Afibs. Maybe it is that the scarrs are healing and it just needs a little more time. I seem to have read that it can take a long time for the healing. So have faith and you certainly deserve to be in NSR. Have Cleveland Clinic followed up on you? Has Doctor McCarthy any recommendations? I sure hope that going to the best place includes that they continue to look after you if you have problems. I received a sweet note from Dr. Cosgrove's nurse saying she was sorry I never got time with the doctor ahead of my surgery. She is such a nice lady. But noone from Cleveland has called to see how I am doing. Which is great, except for trying to find the right coumadin levels. I have varied in my coumadin levels and my doctor says I need to be between 2.5 and 3.5. The last time I had a blood test I was 2.10 and my doctor said below 2, I am at risk (for stroke?). I should have asked him at how much risk sice I tend to worry and they tell me to repeat in 3 weeks. When I said but if I am at risk below 2 shouldn't I do it sooner? He said if I was worried I could. How can you not worry. I don't want a stroke. Gosh dotors seem so tranquil in their assesments.
But they should follow up better, especially at Cleveland, don't you think?
Merry Xmas to you and Fran and I hope 20002 brings NSR permanently.
fondly,
Sheena
