One of the things that many of us forget is the tumultuous times that we experienced after our surgery. Quite a while ago, I posted that I felt that far more people do not maintain NSR after surgery than the statistics suggest. I think that anyone having the maze must realize the heart has been cut, battered and really pushed around. Therefore, Jim, take heart. I think that you are pretty normal in what you are going through. It was the same for me. I went into AFib, controlled that with drugs but couldn't get rid of the flutter. I won't go into all of the details but at seven weeks, everything was clean and pure NSR and it has stayed that way for many months now despite my best efforts to push myself out of rhythm. You need scars and they are now forming. Exercise helped me, it seems, as it took the flutter up to a heart beat range that, I think, pushed me into rhythm while I was exercising. My best to both you and Henry. You are on track and things will work. Now, for me, I will return to my "Carl Plaskett" cure of heart arrythymias by continuing to sip my glass of California Cabernet. (No wine in Florida, Carl. You'll have to move out here).
