(Sorry for the late reply! Too much work..sigh..)
For me, coming back has been of sort of like walking up the stairs...The first step was taken after appr. 6 weeks when I started to jog. I mixed in jogging while walking, which worked fine for me! After another 6 weeks (or so) I started to run (as opposed to jogging), slow, but still...
No, I don't think that starting to jog/run after 6-8 weeks is any problem, but keeping "an eye out" is of course a good idea...As usual, monitoring the response of excercise closely is important, more so after a major heart surgery, I'm sure. I don't think that the healing capacity is affected by /moderate/ training. But the healing process does in fact effect your capacity. I've described this - previously - as a feeling of "resistence", especially felt during the first stages of a work-out. It's more or less like running with the hand-break activated. For me, it's taken two years to get back to something that resembles "the old days". I'm sure this is (the time frame i e) individual, but I'm still sure you need to allow for a slow, in relative terms, but steady period of recovery. Yes, be patient, but don't hesitate to push yourself as long as it feels good!
Best regards,
Anders (who nowadays workout 5-7 days per week without any trouble at all!)
