Sheena,

It sounds like you're doing great! I had problems sleeping after surgery also - I think a combination of pain and stress from the surgery. I slept with so many pillows, there was no room for my husband! I remember that turning over was extremely difficult - going from one side to the other I would have to stop and rest on my back for a few seconds until the pain subsided to go to the other side. Sleeping on my left side was uncomfortable because of some weird feeling in my chest or upper stomach area. If I could stand that feeling for a few minutes, it would subside. My sister and I both had it and I still experience it occasionally (10 months after surgery.) Usually it happens when I am most tired. I think it was around 8 weeks post-op when I was able to turn over without that "rest" in the middle of turning. I also discovered that all those pillows were just disturbing me more so I got rid of those. You'll sleep better - take some pain reliever before going to bed - it will help. Best of luck!

Terry
