Chances are pretty good you'll do fine. The pain has not been a major issue (wouldn't deter anyone from doing it in retrospect) for any of the posters here, that I can recall. The biggest problem for almost everyone has been the pre-op anxiety. There are 2 folks who post to this newsgroup who have not had their af controlled, at least in the long term. They are very much in the minority.
