Dave, if I remember correctly, my post maze AFib was controlled by drugs but I continued to have Atrial Flutter. During the seventh week, my heart returned to normal sinus rhythm and stayed there permanently. Shortly after I went off of all drugs.
I have heard of others requiring more time than seven weeks but I would hope that you will re-convert sometime soon.
