Per Helen's request here is an update: she had surgery Wed. and has been in sinus rhythm since. Atria also cleared of any places to hold potential clots - atrial "tongue" removed; Dr. Beckman at Methodist in Indy very happy. Dr. Crevey, her Cardiologist has also discovered CPS (cardio pulmonary syncopy) which will cause heart stoppages and blackouts - separate issue and not related to a-fib. This will be handled by normal pacemaker to be implanted on Monday. Helen had slow time coming out of anethesia and is still in cardiac ICU but will move Sat. to cardiac care recovery. The "Mack Truck" did not hit her on day three as predicted but still has fair amount of pain meds being administered. At this point, solving both problems (a-fib & cps) predict the strong possibility of normal life returning within 1-2 months and full life expectancy. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. Don.
