Well, as it turns out, my mother was unable to receive the maze. I hope she can still be part of the clique =)

Dr. Cosgrove was able to repair her tri-cuspid valve, but her mitral valve was too degenerated for repair, so she now has a mechanical St. Jude.

Since she was unable to have the mitral repaired, the doc decided against the maze as the risks outweighed the benefit.

She is in ICU and recovering. I had the opportunity to meet Jim Roff and his lovely wife Fran. He looks GREAT!!! Up and around, and very healthy.

I am so relieved her surgery is finally over, but I am still disappointed that she will have to continue on coumadin, but at least she will not have the leak anymore.

Thanks to everyone for all of your support -- I know she will be posted at soon as she can.
