MAZE Surgery Tomorrow - Cleveland Clinic

My Maze surgery is scheduled for 10am tomorrow morning at the Cleveland Clinic with Dr. McCarthy. I meet with Dr. McCarthy this morning and he informed me that he will be doing the Maze procedure only. He says my valves and arteries look very good and he is planning to do only the Maze procedure. He also indicated that he is doing two "maze only" procedures tomorrow.

I want to thank all of you for your input to this board. It has been very comforting to read the comments and concerns listed here. Thank You all.

My wife and I were able to meet briefly with Ozzi Nassar and his wife Mona. Ozzi is doing very well and was an inspiration to see and talk to. We have conversed several times on the phone.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to meet Sheena Sims. Our schedules have been conflicting and busy and we are staying at different locations. However, we have spoken several times on the phone. Sheena will have her surgery tomorrow morning very early (5am).

Ed W. and Carl P. --- I personnaly expressed your hello's and good wishes to Dr. McCarthy and Dr. Hammer. I also showed them several of the print outs from the Alumni Board and indicated that the board is growing as a resource. They both seemed slightly surprised and somewhat pleased.

My wife (Fran) will try to post my progress on the board.
