Mike, I have not had the Maze. However, I have been in contact with a Maze surgern and EP that works with him. My options have been do a pacemaker( I have a slow heart rate and the meds slow down heart rate to slow.) to take the meds. Ablation as I have had some A- Flutter as well as A- Fib. May still require pacemaker and coumidin. Have heard the ablation works well for a- flutter but not a- fib. Last choice Maze. Appears if it works, no A- fib, A flutter, meds, and coumidin. I'm sure thats what you were thinking also. At this point I'm planing to have the Maze. I'm sorry that the results weren't what you expected.
