Anders: Your description of a "delay" has been my experience as well. It invariably seems to happen when I have not had a chance to start out slowly and build up to my biking pace. It seems as though if my heart gets up to 130+ in the first several minutes of a ride, my legs start to tighten up. This as seemed to happen more if I have had 3-4 glasses of wine the night before, so I end up with a shortened (distance-wise) workout, since I cannot keep up with my biking friends.
Have you noticed any pattern regarding having alcohol within 12 hours of a workout/race?
I know I will be able to get back, just because I generally feel so good, I'm just out of shape and overweight.
We appreciate your condolences. Let us pray that few innocents will be harmed in the inevitable aftermath.
