Bill:

Henry is right with his response re: ablation. I was helped with AFlutter, but AFib became more frequent. (There appears to be promise with the newer techniques-"lasso", "circumferential", but the success rate is around 50% or so).

Henry is also right about Ozzie's post of Dr. McCarthy's email reply to the questions Ozzie had asked of him. Even more up-to-date info.

In regards to question 3: WHAT DO YOU MEAN HENRY?? Did they really do all that to me?
I'm only kidding. It sounds worse than it turns out to be, at least for me. I have only vague mememories of the discomfort of the first couple of days. I do remember joking with nurses in ICU, crying when I could see my heart in NSR, but the endorphines my body produced because of my joy, must have blurred the memory of major discomfort. I would do it again next January if it meant another year of feeling so good!

As for "running to the airport", I was no longer able to run pre-maze because of lung damage and AFib, but I concur that waiting for the "next new cure" is no fun. Walking to the airport SOON, will work just as well.
Good luck to you and Henry.
