Well its now two weeks since my maze (actually two weeks yesterday but I did not post given yesterday’s horrific events). My incisions are healing great with no problems. I don’t need painkillers and can sleep in any position without discomfort. I notice that I sleep more soundly and do not wake up in the early hours like I did with afib. My wife tells me that I no longer jiggle about all night. Before I was constantly moving and shaking my extremities in my sleep. That seems to have stopped. Exercising on the treadmill I can walk 5 miles per day at 4mph without excessive effort. My heart rate monitor shows 85-87 bpm most of the time but I do see periods in the 110-130 range. This kind of thing is normal as the healing process proceeds as you can see elsewhere on this board. Yesterday I ran briefly at 6 mph but became breathless quite quickly.
Earlier I mentioned that that only thing that was missing was the maze t-shirt. So we made one and I have attached a picture of me in it.
In summary I feel great and I am planning to return to work next week if I can figure out how to get the necessary paper work done.
