Comfort tip for sleeping during recovery

While I didn't have too much discomfort following my maze, getting comfortable in bed was a little challenge.
I found (due to someone else's suggestion here) that lying on my right side with a pillow or two kind of wedged
against my chest provided some support.
Some months after my recovery, my son bought a Tempur-Pedic pillow, and called to tell me how great it was.
Having seen them at a Brookstone store, I was aware of their comfort, but dismayed by the price ($150+ for
a pillow?). He found his on eBay for around $55, as did I, and I have loved using it for a few months, but
not until last night did I realize it's potential for a recovering mazer. Yesterday, I fell onto my concrete driveway
from the top of an 8' ladder, and I was lucky only to lose a little skin as I tried in vain to hold onto the
roof, and apparently bruised some ribs on my left side. I couldn't get comfortable lying down in bed until I
tried this pillow as described above. The discomfort around my ribs disappeared, and I slept soundly. I was
really amazed at how much support these unique high-density foam pillows provide and sure wish I had
bought one back in January. I would have taken it (and suggest the same) to the hospital with me.
I bought the queen size-extra thick model, which is contoured to fit under your neck. These are NOT to
be confused with those cheap pillows one sees on late-night cable tv. You can check them out at the tempur-pedic
web site or at Brookstone, and I believe Sharper Image stores. Ebay is the place to buy one though.
