Jim: Glad to hear that you are scheduled this month. If you are a large framed person, you may want to ask questions of Dr. Hammer and Dr. McCarthy re: the open chest routine. That was the routine I got, but I don't know if my size or my questions were the causative agent.
Say "hi" to both of them for me (my maze was 1/18/01), and thank Dr. Hammer again for the consideration of his phone calls to Florida, after I returned home. The one about 10:15PM about 12 days post-maze, when I was coughing from a post-nasal drip and thought I would die, was very reassuring, and MOST timely. He was really great.
