I also has pericarditis after my Maze surgery. I had my surgery and I was in the hospital for 2 days, even with a fever. About 2 weeks later I developed severe chest pain and shortness of breath, I could not even walk up the stairs. I was eventually admitted after having an echo and blood work, my sed rate, which is an inflammation test was 400, and the normal is 1 to 40! I think I was in the hospital for 3 days and was on IV steroids and pain medications because I was in so much pain! About a week later I was starting to feel better, the fever went down and the pain subsided.
What medications has the doctor put you on?
