I had the maze March 6, 2002 at Texas Heart Institute in Houston at the age of 61. I took attenolol for a couple of months after surgery to slow my heart rate and coumadin for six months. After that--nothing. I haven't had any afib since the surgery and just take a baby aspirin. I do anything I want to do.
