I had the MAZE at the CCF almost 4 years ago and am now off all meds. When I read your post, it took me back to many years of epoisodes that were controlling my life. I know your fear and want to encourage you to be optomistic and pursue a solution. There have been many advances since I had my surgery. I can only tell you that living with the 'ball and chain' of AFIB was harder than the surgery.... I have never looked back and only regret not doing it sooner..Good Luck!
