Paul AND Tom were both early posters on Jack's first board, and their experiences were among the ones which encouraged me to have the Maze. Paul's rapid recovery to pre-afib conditioning was really motivating, as I had not stayed in shape and had pretty well given up hope for much of a life.

Congratulations (and thanks) to both of you. I am always inspired by these success stories, and may have to run some stairs at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, next week when I am at a convention, just to say I "did it!!". Considering that 3-1/2 years ago, I couldn't walk up one flight, I consider the Cox Maze III a miracle. I have had no afib since a short burst on my 4th day post-maze.
Perhaps Paul should become my personal trainer and diet consultant. I might be willing if red wine is included in his regimen. I would sure like to have his body "stats" in 7 years, when I turn 70 (or ANYTIME, for that matter).

I hope both of you can make it to our still tentative "former afibbers" reunion/educational gettogether in the Fall. Dr. Cox wrote me a few days ago to say that he was going to get involved in getting things planned in St. Louis (or someplace) since the ball has been dropped by folks at Washington University @ St. Louis who were going to help set up this event. I KNOW Dr.Cox would love to see you both and to hear of your tremendous progress.
Demonstrations of the Super Slow exercise protocol and some rope climbing (NO legs, thumbs down) by 70 year olds could be featured aMAZING highlights!
