You guys seem to have so much self discipline! I have actually thought of you several times while here in Florida, Mike.

When Tom goes daily to get radiation, he usually sees the same fellows, who all have apts about 10-15minutes apart. (It doesn't take long to get beamed, once they've set up your protocol)

Well, this one fellow, Walter, who is 80yrs old gets his rad when Tom does. He lives in Port Charlotte, Fl. At the tuesday night, very fun, "beamers" meatings, we introduce ourselves. Walt looks very fit and trim, even though he has inoperable pc and is not a canditate for seeding. He's had 70 radiations, because that's all there is to do for him. He introduced himself and said, "I like bike riding, and I rode 27 miles this morning." WOW...I was impressed....and told him so! I still can't see how he can sit on a bike seat.

Tom is finishing up his radiation next Tuesday, the 15th. He is continuing the hormone pills, and injections. When the guys were comparing the sizes of their prostates, my hubby won by a landslide, with 91 cu/centimeters. It has shruken with rad/hormone tx, but not enough to get his seeds (as planned) now. :-( SOO...we are going home for a month, hope the HT helps to shrink it more, and come back August first....hopefully to get Palladium seeds then. You see...the larger the prostate (which gets larger because the pc cells have multiplied...making it buldge) the more radioactive seeds it takes to kill the ca tissue. And THAT means an awfully lot of "over radiation", to the whole abdominal area, rectum and bladder...likely doing damage to good tissue.

However...we are both "feeling" better about everything! We don't feel as scared, and meeting these other pc patients (like all we do here on this forum) had made us feel more confident that Tom will probably be around for quite awhile longer!! Like AF sufferer's these men don't "look sick" at this point, and many of them have been treating for 5-8 years.

Thanks for asking Mike...and I'm so happy you've gotten over the PAC/PVC's. It took awhile...didn't it?

Have a good summer,
S.
