Keith, sorry to hear about your dis-appointment, but I too feel that you have not given the procedure enough time.
I had a maze and mitral valve replacement in March 2003 and I still go in and out of afib and aflutter from time to time. I am considering ablation, but haven't gotten the courage yet to pursue.
Funny you had the same issue with a cardioversion that I did at the Cleveland Clinic. I had 3 previous cardioversions and I don't remember a thing from them. But they zapped me 3 times and I felt each of them. (OUCH) They didn't believe me, either. The attending nurse said I only screamed the last time....Be persistent, to get your answers. If you don't, no one will do it for you.
