Justin: I am sorry to read of your father's problems, and hope that someone here might be able to answer your question about the stents.

Since most of the PVA/PVI patients posting here have been patients of the CC, they have experienced little or no adverse amount of stenosis. Ablations do have stenosis/stroke risks which unfortunately were not communicated to your family. I imagine that the day is coming (if it has not yet come) that even the EPs at the CC will have such an experience with a patient, although because they have several choices of ablation creating energy sources at hand during each PVI, they are able to change them at will to deal with difficult areas.
Facilities with only one energy source available in their EP labs have to "make do" with what they have at hand.
If you can provide some more details on where/who performed your dad's ablation, it might offer guidance to someone else in the future when they use the "search" function on this page to find references to facilities/EPs they are considering.
Please keep us informed of your dad's progress.
