One year anniversary

Wake up everybody! It's my one-year anniversary. What a miracle. I have gone from no life to a new life thanks to the Cleveland Clinic and this board. I thank God every day for my blessings.

Dr. Marc Gillinov performed my mitral valve repair and Radio-frequency Modified Maze. After a bumpy start, it has been a smooth road so far. I am off all heart medications and stronger than ever. Before surgery, I couldn't walk from my car into WalMart without resting due to those horrible AFib medications.

So those of you out there suffering from AFib, do not give up hope. More than likely there is hope for you. More and more doctors are becoming part of the solution instead of the problem. With the help of this board, you can find help.

God bless you Jack Drum for leading the way and starting this board. And I thank all of you who have been such an important part of my recovery. Especially I want to thank Pam S. who lives in my hometown for helping me through the difficult times pre-surgery.
