Question for those of you who have gone through the Maze procedure?

I was wondering, since the Maze involves cutting the chest to perform the procedure, have any of you had problems after the the MAZE with costochondritis? As you know, my chest was cracked in an emergency situation. I've had these chest pains and spasms since my first ablation. Doctors always told me that this was the normal healing process. This week, I was seeing an orthopaedic doctor for another issue, and I mentioned to him my concerns. He immediately diagnosed me with costochondritis, and told me that it could linger for another year or two, maybe longer. I seem to agravate the problem with only minor lifting or seemingly harmless light activities. If you've had this condition, what did you do for it?
